This Interior Design Survey aims to achieve the following objectives:

  1. To find out whether the syllabi of these programs coincide with those overseas in terms of the coverage of interior design’s main body of knowledge

  2. To find out whether students and teachers are satisfied with interior design education in Hong Kong To find out the future direction of interior design education in Hong Kong

  3. To find out the number of practitioners and companies engaged in interior design in Hong Kong To explore the scope of business for Hong Kong interior design companies

  4. To explore the challenges that Hong Kong interior designers are currently facing (particularly the barriers to enter the China market) and the solutions to overcome the challenges

  5. To understand practitioners’ competence and knowledge of different types of knowledge required in the interior design profession

  6. To identify the ways to enhance the professionalism of the Hong Kong interior design industry
