Q1:
1. Q: What is a Logbook?

A: It is an interior design mentoring scheme logbook. Mentor and mentee are required to record mentee’s working tasks in the logbook. The diverse experience have documentation in the logbook to display mentee’s work experience for professional qualification.

2. Q: What are a mentor’s responsibilities?

A: A mentor should play a vital role to support the mentee through practical training. He/She would help mentee to complete the logbook within 2-year mentoring program. During 2-year mentoring scheme, the mentor would provide direction and help mentee reach true potential in interior design.

3. Q: What will a mentee do during 2-year mentoring scheme?

A: A mentee will work with a supervising interior designer (Mentor) who will monitor their work experience to be sure they are exposed to and gain experience in the diverse parts of the design process. He/She should document his/her work experience in the logbook every month and meet with our coordinator regularly for ensuring the mentoring scheme runs smoothly.

4. Q: Why should I be a mentor?

A: A mentor could gain personal satisfaction in seeing the results of the involvement through the improved skills and performance of the mentee It is also an opportunity to hone your own coaching, counselling and leadership skills.

5. Q: Why should I be a mentee?

A: A mentee is an individual who seeks a trusted mentor, to provide direction and help you reach your true potential in interior design. Entering into a mentoring relationship helps you to build your professional network and lead to a strong business connections.

6. Q: What are the fees for joining the mentoring scheme?

A: No fees will be charged for both the mentor and mentee. The mentoring scheme was developed by RIDA project initiated by the Hong Kong Interior Design Association in 2008 with the aim of raising the professional standards of interior design in Hong Kong.
